Ranch Butter Smash Burger Sliders
Ranch Butter, need I say more? This simple, flavor-packed mixture turns ordinary sliders into the star of the party. The buttery ranch layer adds a savory richness that perfectly balances the sweetness of those soft Hawaiian rolls. These Ranch Butter Smash Burger Sliders were my husband’s idea (credit where credit’s due!) and they’ve officially earned a spot on our “best crowd-pleasers” list.
Each bite hits all the right notes — cheesy, tangy, buttery, and a little spicy. Plus, these sliders are easy to assemble in batches and even easier to devour. Pile them high with your favorite toppings — lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, jalapeños — or make a mini slider bar for guests to customize their own.
The Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Sliders:
-
Dinner rolls (Hawaiian King Rolls recommended)
-
Ground beef
-
Bread crumbs (Panko)
-
Worcestershire sauce
-
Unsalted butter
-
Ranch seasoning
Slider Sauce:
-
Mayonnaise
-
Sour cream
-
Ranch seasoning
Optional Toppings:
-
Pickles
-
Onions
-
Tomatoes
-
Lettuce
-
Jalapeños
The Method
- Make the Slider Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together mayo, sour cream, and half a packet of ranch seasoning (save the other half for the butter). Chill until ready to use. - Form the Patties
Combine ground beef, Panko, and Worcestershire in a bowl. Mix gently, then form into small balls about the size of a golf ball. Place on a plate or tray. - Preheat the Griddle or Cast Iron
Heat your Blackstone, griddle, or cast-iron skillet to medium-high. - Make the Ranch Butter
Melt butter with the remaining ranch seasoning in a small cast-iron pan on the griddle or stovetop. Stir and remove from heat when melted. - Smash Those Burgers
Pour half the ranch butter on the cooking surface, then add the beef balls directly on top.
Cover each with a piece of parchment paper and smash firmly using a burger press or sturdy spatula until thin. Cook for 1–2 minutes, flip, add cheese, cover, and cook another 1–2 minutes until melted. - Toast the Buns
Slice dinner rolls in half, then toast them directly on the griddle using the remaining ranch butter — about 30 seconds per side. - Assemble and Serve
Spread slider sauce on each bun, add 1–2 patties per slider, and pile high with your favorite toppings. Serve warm with extra sauce for dipping!
Serving Suggestions
These sliders are ideal for parties, tailgates, or a casual Friday-night dinner. Serve them with:
-
French fries or sweet potato fries
-
Potato salad or slaw
-
A platter of dill pickles (because balance)
