Air Fryer Deviled Eggs

Home » Recipes » Appetizer » Air Fryer Deviled Eggs

When I discovered you could air fry eggs, I had to try it—purely for the fact that it meant one less pot to clean. Turns out, the air fryer makes the easiest [not] boiled eggs ever. These Air Fryer Deviled Eggs are ridiculously easy, creamy, and absolutely delicious. This recipe is straight from my mother-in-law (a deviled egg legend), but I put my spin on it by air frying the eggs and topping them with optional air-fried pickled jalapeños.

They’re classic in flavor (hello, mustard and vinegar!) but with a fun twist: instead of boiling, we air fry the eggs, and for bonus points, we top them with air-fried pickled jalapeños. Optional, yes—but highly recommended if you like a little kick.

The Ingredients

Sometimes a basic deviled egg is the best version, especially if you skip the jalapeños for a classic take. But the secret to truly great deviled eggs? Don’t skimp on the vinegar. That tangy note balances everything out.

You’ll need:

  • 12 small eggs

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard

  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 2 teaspoons paprika

  • 24 pickled jalapeño slices (optional, for garnish)

The Method

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can still follow this recipe using traditionally boiled eggs—but if you do, the air fryer version makes peeling a dream.

To air fry (not boil) your eggs:

  1. Preheat your air fryer for 3–5 minutes at 275°F.

  2. Add eggs (shells on) directly into the basket and cook for 15 minutes.

  3. Transfer immediately to an ice bath (a large bowl filled with ice and water) and chill for 10–15 minutes.

  4. Crack and peel by gently shaking the eggs in a bowl with a lid—this loosens the shells perfectly. Peel under running water if needed.

To dehydrate the jalapeño toppers (optional):
5. Add pickled jalapeño slices to the air fryer and cook at 250°F for 15 minutes, or until dehydrated.

To make the deviled eggs:
6. Slice eggs in half lengthwise and scoop yolks into a bowl.
7. Mash yolks with a fork until fine.
8. Add mayonnaise, mustard, and apple cider vinegar, stirring until smooth.
9. Transfer filling to a piping or zip-top bag with a corner cut off, and pipe into each egg white half.
10. Sprinkle with paprika and top with a jalapeño slice (optional).

Pairings

Serve these beauties on a platter with a little extra paprika dusted on top. They’re perfect for Easter brunch, summer picnics, or as a holiday appetizer.

We love pairing them with a crisp, refreshing drink—something like an Oat Cream IPA from 4noses or a sparkling lemonade.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer or pot for boiling

Ingredients

  • 12 eggs
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 24 pickled jalapeños

Instructions

  • Cook Hard (not) Boiled Eggs*: Preheat air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 275-degrees. Add 12 eggs to air fryer and cook for 15 minutes. Place eggs into an ice bath for 10-15 minutes. Drain water and shake eggs in bowl with lid to crack the shell for easy peel. Peel eggs under running water.
  • Dehydrate Egg Toppers: Add 24 pickled jalapeño slices to the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes on 250 (or until dehydrated)
  • Make Deviled Eggs: Cut eggs in half longways (keep the egg white halves).  Extract the yolks into a separate bowl. Break yolks into a fine mixture with a fork. Add Mayo, Mustard, Apple Cider Vinegar while mixing. Once mixture is combined, add to a plastic zip-log bag and cut 1 of the corners of the bag off to create a piping bag. Slowly squeeze the mixture from the piping bag into each halved egg white. Dust the eggs with Paprika. Top each egg with 1 slice dehydrated pickled jalapeño.

Notes

  • No air fryer? No problem. Just hard-boil your eggs the traditional way and follow the same filling instructions.
  • Peeling tip: The ice bath and gentle bowl-shake method make peeling almost effortless.
  • Spice it up: For a bolder flavor, mix a touch of hot sauce or cayenne into your yolk mixture.
