If you asked me to rank desserts, I'd probably say pie beats cake every time. Ice cream makes that list a little harder because it's in a category of its own, but when you combine the two? That's about as good as it gets.
For years, it has been a close competition between banana cream pie and key lime pie as my favorite. This Key Lime Pie Creami finally tips the scales.
Growing up, I remember my dad requesting either banana cream pie or key lime pie every year for his birthday instead of cake. And when the Ninja Creami became popular, I knew exactly what to get him for Christmas because he loves ice cream almost nightly, and I had a feeling he'd have fun experimenting with new flavors.
After making this recipe, I realized I was really writing it down so I could send it to my dad and stepmom. I know they're going to love it as much as we do.
The funny part? If I didn't tell you the secret ingredient, you'd probably never guess it.
The Secret Ingredient
The secret ingredient is avocado.
Before you scroll away, hear me out.
Avocado has a naturally buttery texture that blends into the base, making this one of the creamiest Ninja Creami recipes I've made. It also adds healthy fats and fiber while helping create that naturally light green color you'd expect from key lime pie. Once it's blended with the lime juice and sweetened condensed milk, you won't taste the avocado at all—just bright, tangy key lime pie.
It's one of those ingredients that quietly does all the work without stealing the spotlight.

Ingredients You'll Need
Avocado
The avocado is what makes this Key Lime Pie Creami incredibly smooth and creamy without needing heavy cream. It also adds healthy fats, fiber, and the signature pale green color.
Key Lime Juice
Fresh or bottled key lime juice gives the most authentic flavor, but regular fresh lime juice works. If you can find bottled key lime juice at the grocery store, it's a great shortcut and gives this recipe that classic tangy key lime pie taste.
Sweetened Condensed Milk
Sweetened condensed milk brings the sweetness and richness that makes this dessert taste just like the filling of a traditional key lime pie. It also helps create a smooth, scoopable texture after spinning.
Whole Milk
Whole milk thins the mixture just enough while keeping the finished dessert rich and creamy. You'll also use a little extra after the first spin if your Creami needs a respin.
Graham Crackers
No key lime pie is complete without a graham cracker crust. Blending a couple of crackers into the base adds that nostalgic pie flavor, while the remaining cracker makes the perfect crunchy topping or mix-in after spinning.
How to Make Key Lime Pie Creami
Start by adding the avocado to your blender, followed by the key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, graham crackers, and finally the whole milk.
The order matters. Adding the milk last helps prevent it from curdling when it comes into contact with the acidic lime juice.
Blend everything until the mixture is completely smooth with no visible pieces of avocado remaining.
Pour the mixture into your Ninja Creami pint container, making sure it doesn't go above the max fill line. Freeze on a level surface for at least 24 hours until completely solid.
When you're ready to enjoy it, process the pint using the Ice Cream setting on your Ninja Creami. If the texture looks crumbly after the first spin—which is completely normal—add one tablespoon of whole milk and run the Re-Spin cycle.
Finish by crumbling the remaining graham cracker over the top or mixing it in for little bites of pie crust throughout every scoop.
The result is a creamy, tangy frozen dessert that tastes remarkably like a slice of homemade key lime pie—complete with that buttery graham cracker finish.

Key Lime Pie Creami
Equipment
- Blender
Ingredients
- 1 large avocado halved, pitted, and flesh removed
- ½ cup key lime juice preferred or juice of 4 limes
- ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup whole milk plus 1 tablespoon for respinning
- 3 graham crackers divided
Instructions
- Add the avocado flesh to a blender. Pour in the key lime juice, followed by the sweetened condensed milk, 2 graham crackers, and finally the whole milk. Blend until completely smooth. Adding the ingredients in this order helps prevent the milk from curdling from the acidity of the lime juice.
- Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Freeze on a level surface for at least 24 hours.
- Remove the pint from the freezer and process using the Ice Cream cycle.
- Add 1 tablespoon of whole milk and run the Re-Spin cycle.
- Crumble the remaining graham cracker over the top or use it as a mix-in before serving.
Notes
- If you use low-fat milk instead of whole milk, the calories and fat will be slightly lower.
- This recipe is naturally high in healthy monounsaturated fats from the avocado, which also gives it its ultra-creamy texture without needing heavy cream.
